Housed in its original envelope, which shows a return address of 636 Broadway Ave, Leaside, Toronto 17, Ontario. Stamp and postmark have been torn away.

Dear Maggie & John
Thanks for your letter and cable of good wishes for our Golden Wedding Anniversary which was on 4th Sept. Marge gave us a lovely reception in her new home, 26 Taylor Dr. There was about 80 at it. We received a lot of lovely & useful gifts, too numerous to mention. We haven't received your gift yet but will write as soon as I get it. Maggie, I'll be pleased to receive any clothes that you feel like sending me, that's if you're sure you don't need them yourself. They'll always come in useful here. We were at Jackie McFadden wedding and reception yesterday (that Jim youngest boy) they had a lovely wedding, bridesmaids & over an hundred guests (times are so changed since we were married) but such is life. We were so sorry to hear of you being so ill. I do hope you keep better, but if I remember right, you and Aggie were both troubled with chillblains in the old country. I had them there too, but never had them out here. I want to thank you very very much for your kind offer which I only wish I was able to accept. We had another very nice offer from our family. They wanted to pay our way by plane to Ireland & back with all expenses paid, for our Anniversary but had to turn it down also, on account of my leg. I'm not able to get around here & I know I couldn't stand the cold, wet climate over there. We have furnaces out here, as you know. Why are you shifting again. I thought you said you had bought that house you're in, did you not like it. Willie didn't stay off work long, he started in a new job the week after he stopped the school & likes it very much. All for now. Hoping you're entirely recovered from your illness & lots of love from Billy & Sarah E.
