Welcome to the Hastings Libraries Recollect website, which provides easy online access to a rich store of heritage photos, documents, maps and related ephemera reflecting the district’s past. 

You are welcome to share our material on social media or between individuals on a non-commercial basis but you must state that the images and/or photos are copyrighted to Hastings District Council and you must include a link back to the original page.  By registering as a member (all that's required is an email address or Facebook account) you are also able to contribute your own knowledge and memories about the holdings, as well as create personal collections of your own.

Community Contributions

You may want to share your own stories of life in the Hastings District, through photographs, letters or other ephemera. Perhaps you belong to a club or have information about a business or event that has significance to our region.

Please email recollect@hdc.govt.nz and our Community Archives team will be able assess whether the material is suitable for digitisation and adding to our collections.

Removing Content

If you would like an item removed from the online collection, please email us at recollect@hdc.govt.nz including as much detail and an explanation. We will consider your request and reply to you in a timely manner.
