DescriptionFront corner view of the 1957 Leyland Hippo truck & trailer first purchased by John Nimon of ROADAIR (H.B.) LTD.
It is green and white (not seen in this black & white photo), 10 speed transmission, 5 axles
It was first registered in NZ on 29th October, 1957, with the number plate EM8613
The refrigerated, articulated trailer (designed by Mr John Stewart of Hill and Steward Auckland) utilised "Cold Wall" refrigeration, the first of its type in the world.

This photo would have been taken some time between when Roadair first aquired the truck (1957) and when it was donated to M.O.T.A.T 25 years later (~1982)
